About Calem’sCRU

Calem’sCru was born from a shared, multi-generational passion for wine. The story began in the 1990s when founder Mark received a gift subscription to Wine Spectator. What started as a casual curiosity quickly evolved into a lifelong pursuit of learning, tasting, and collecting. Over the years, Mark has curated a personal cellar of more than 1,000 bottles and traveled extensively across the United States and Europe, exploring the history, culture, and terroir that make each wine unique.

This enthusiasm naturally passed to his son, Matt, who grew up surrounded by the sights, scents, and stories of wine. Inspired by his father’s dedication, Matt developed his own deep appreciation for the craft. Together, they pursued formal wine education, earning their WSET Level II certifications and expanding their expertise. Since then, Mark and Matt have led more than a dozen wine seminars, from corporate events to intimate private gatherings. Their blend of professional knowledge, fresh perspective, and genuine love for wine creates an engaging and approachable experience for all audiences.

At Calem’sCRU, our mission is to make wine approachable, engaging, and enjoyable. Through our seminars, we demystify the world of wine and introduce you to wines you’ll love—whether they’re familiar favorites or new discoveries. We guide you through the basics while also exploring the regions and traditions that shape wines across the globe. Most importantly, we make learning about wine fun.
